Manchester City have stretched their Premier League winning streak to eight games this weekend as Pep Guardiola’s side cruised on to a 4-0 win at Newcastle.

Manchester City look primed and ready for their title defence in 2022 but another defeat means Eddie Howe’s Newcastle remain rooted right inside the bottom three.

And with wildly contrasting form heading into this a dominant City took control right from them off.

Joao Cancelo’s hooked cross looked an easy one for Ciaran Clark but his lapse allowed Ruben Dias to stroll in an nod City in front.

But if City’s first was fortunate there was nothing lucky about their second as Cancelo battered one past Martin Dubravka.

Any chance of a Newcastle fightback looked doomed after Ryan Fraser’s penalty shout was rejected before the break with City retaking charge in the second 45.

Dubraka brilliantly kept out Gabriel Jesus but Riyad Mahrez brilliantly volleyed the visitors 3-0 in front just after.

And with Newcastle plodding along to the end, City had time for one final act, as Raheem Sterling steered
Jesus’ cross.

Full Time from St. James’ Park it’s Newcastle 0-4 Manchester City
