Defending champions Manchester City will end the weekend back on top of the Premier League table as they cruised to 3-1 win away at Watford.

Chelsea’s defeat at West Ham opened the door for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side as they eased to a straightforward three points against Watford.

City bossed this one from the off at Vicarage Road as Raheem Sterling stooped to nod home Phil Foden’s ball inside the first five minutes.

And that breakthrough threatened to open the floodgates for Pep as Sterling and Jack Grealish passed up easy chances.

However, despite Watford posing a threat on the break, City’s dominance eventually conjured up a second.

Ilkay Gundogan’s drive was beaten out by Daniel Bachmann only for Bernardo Silva to burst through and lash home the rebound.

And it was to rinse and repeat for City in the second 45 as Bachmann brilliantly tipped out Foden’s effort before Silva bent home a wonderful third.

The Hornets did conjure up a late consolation through Cucho Hernandez’s instinctive finish but there was not stopping Pep and his men in clinching three more Premier League points.

Full Time from Vicarage Road it’s Watford 1 Manchester City 3
