Pep is looking to Italy for his next target

More and more stories are linking City to Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly, suggesting that a deal is close.

la Repubblica in Italy is claiming that City are preparing an offer of around £63m but will need to improve their offer to land the defender who Napoli value at around 80.

Meanwhile, Lazio are spitting feathers after David Silva chose to a move to Real Sociedad. Claudio Bravo also left the club this week.

In other news ahead of the new Premier League fixtures being released it’s being reported that both Manchester City and Manchester United will not play on the opening weekend.

The reason why is to allow the pair extra rest having reached the latter stages of the Champions League and Europa League respectively.

There is now less than a month to go before the 2020/21 season begins, with a quick turnaround following the previous campaign that was disrupted by the global health crisis.

The new season will begin later than the usual start date of mid-August but the structure of the end of the campaign remains largely the same, with the aim of bringing things back to their usual routine by ending the season in May.
