Another day, another signing for Chelsea…

Edouard Mendy has joined the blues from Rennes and could be put straight into action against West Brom this weekend.

The 28 year old is a commanding goalkeeper who stands at 6ft 6in – which is a good five inches on Kepa – and it will be interesting to see if he can have an immediate impact on Frank Lampard’s backline.

As for Kepa, signed for £72million just a couple of seasons ago, it looks like he could be leaving the club on loan back to La Liga where the club hope he can rediscover his form and help them recoup some of their cash back next summer.

Speaking of keepers it could be that Sergio Romero’s time at Old Trafford could be coming to an end.

The Argentine has long been labelled the “best back up keeper in the Premier League” but he now finds himself as third choice stopper behind De Gea and Dean Henderson – who had such an impressive loan with Sheffield United last term.

Everton are thought to be interested in the player as pressure grows on England No1 Jordan Pickford who made yet another mistake in the Toffees midweek win over Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup.

Back at Chelsea, it looks like the clear out could soon start after a summer of spending

Reports say that Ruben Loftus Cheek is available on loan and is interesting both Aston Villa and West Ham whilst Callum Hudson-Odoi is eyeing a Chelsea exit as he sees his opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge this season.

Jorginho could also be edging towards the exit amongst reported interest from Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta seeing him as the man to emulate Fernandinho’s role with Manchester City in a red shirt for his new look Arsenal team.

At Manchester United, the Jadon Sancho deal is continuing to as on/off as ever, but that’s not the only iron in the Ed Woodward fire as they look at some reinforcements at the other end of the pitch.

Highly rated RB Leipzig centre back Dayot Upamecano has been told that he is allowed to leave the club for the right price, which has alerted Manchester United to his availability.

The French 21-year old would no doubt improve the leaky Reds defence but would come with a hefty price tag of around £40m… and that’s before Manchester United tax is added on.

With just over a week left of the transfer window there are still NO new faces at West Ham (despite a lot of huffing a puffing).

Club owner, David Sullivan, appeared on Talk Sport this week to bemoan the lack of summer activity… despite him being the man who signs the checks… but could that be about to change in the next few days?

David Moyes is still after defensive reinforcements and has gone back in again for James Tarkowski at Burnley, despite being told several times to forget about signing the player.

West Ham are also reported to be interested in Leicester City target Wesley Fofana from St Etienne. The 19-year-old is highly thought of in his own country and would cost any prospective bidder around £35m.
