Liverpool's Joel Matip has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a foot injury.

The defender picked up the knock in the 0-0 Merseyside derby draw at Everton on June 21st.

Matip was absent in the Reds’ last game, a 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace last week, and he’s now set to miss their remaining seven matches.

Next up for Liverpool, It’s Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday in their first game since they were crowned champions.
