Liverpool have made it six wins from six in the Champions League this season as they edged out a final day 2-1 win at AC Milan.

The Reds have now set a new 100% record for an English club in the Champions League with maximum points in Group B.

Jurgen Klopp did opt to rotate his options at the San Siro but the visitors still had enough to quality to power on into the last 16.

However, despite the final result, it was Milan who made the brighter start as Fikayo Tomori forced home past Alisson.

But, Liverpool have showed a nerveless resilience in recent weeks and star man Mo Salah quickly edged them level after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s effort was beaten out.

And with Liverpool looking to go up through the gears after the break, man of moment Divock Origi powered them in front.
Sadio Mane’s drive was parried by Mike Maignan and Origi popped up to steer home the rebound.

Milan did carve out one late chance to save their European season but Alisson raced off his line to bravely deny Franck Kessie.

Full Time from the San Siro it’s AC Milan 1 Liverpool 2
