It was all pretty routine on the night as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool strolled on to a 5-1 win away at Porto.

Porto have emerged as one of Liverpool’s favourite whipping boys in recent seasons and goals from Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino ensured an easy night for Klopp.

Despite a few early scares from the home side, the Reds looked in cruise control before the break, as Salah tapped home Curtis Jones’ blocked shot and Mane popped up to poke in James Milner’s ball.

And with Salah grabbing his second on the hour, Klopp opted to ring the changes ahead of Manchester City this weekend.

But despite the changes there was to be no drop in intensity from Liverpool as substitute Firmino grabbed his chance to shine.

The Brazilian benefitted from some suspect goal keeping from Diogo Costa as he made it five on the night to mark a poor night for Porto, and set Klopp up for what should be a humdinger this weekend.
