Premier League giants Liverpool could make a free transfer move in 2022 as they close in on Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele.

Liverpool are set to be active in both the winter and summer markets next year but boss Jurgen Klopp will be restricted in his spending, though Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele may be targeted.

The club’s ownership are fully focused on contract extensions for their current star names with talks over Mo Salah’s new deal set to dominate in the coming months.

And as a result, with Liverpool operating on a budget in the New Year, Dembele has now become an option for Klopp as his own extension talks have faltered in Catalonia.

The Frenchman has only impressed in patches during his time at the Camp Nou, but a new challenge on Merseyside, under the guidance of Klopp, could revive his previous world class potential.
