Liverpool have closed the title gap on Manchester City this weekend as they picked a vital 3-1 win away at Crystal Palace.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side will move to within six points of Manchester City, if they win their game in hand, with the title race firmly back on.

Liverpool clicked into gear with ease early on as Virgil Van Dijk powered them in front on eight minutes.

That settled the potential nerves for the away fans as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain steered home Andy Robertson’s cross to double it before the break.

But some over confidence sneaked in for Klopp’s charges either side of the break with Alisson called into action to keep Michael Olise and Odsonne Edouard.

And that frailty at the back was punished on the hour as Edouard tucked home Jean-Philippe Mateta’s square ball.

But the luck was with Liverpool late on as VAR called for a penalty as Diogo Jota tangled with Vicente Guaita and Fabinho calmly rolled home the winner from the spot.

Full Time from Selhurst Park it’s Crystal Palace 1 Liverpool 3
