Chelsea and Liverpool have both missed the chance to put pressure on Premier League leaders Manchester City as the arch rivals battled out a brilliant 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool gave it everything in a full-blooded encounter in the capital but ultimately neither saw their title hopes boosted despite an impressive four goals inside the first 45 minutes.

Jurgen Klopp’s Covid-19 enforced absence didn’t appear to have too much of an impact on the Reds as the visitors cruised into an early 2-0 lead.

Trevor Chalobah’s disastrous error was pounced on by Sadio Mane to slot home the opener before Mo Salah swerved home a brilliant second.

But Chelsea showed huge resolves before the whistle as they roared right back into it.

Mateo Kovacic’s outrageous volley got them on track before Christian Pulisic stole in to level it up.

Unsurprisingly, the pace dipped in the second 45, but both sides still had chances to win it.

Salah and Mane both drew a wonderful diving stops from Edouard Mendy and Caoimhin Kelleher produced a point saving block for Liverpool.

Full Time from Stamford Bridge it’s Chelsea 2-2 Liverpool
