MIdfielder is the latest player to self-isolate

Jesse Lingard has become the latest member of the squad test positive for Covid-19 and is currently self-isolating.

He joins goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who tested positive last month and both seem likely to be out of contention for the opening game of the new season against Leeds next Saturday.

They also missed the pre-season friendly against Everton, which saw a confident performance from several players including Bruno Fernandez who delighted fans with a brilliant free-kick.

The game played out in front of thousands of fans at Old Trafford who also got the chance to see goals from Mason Greenwood, Harry Maguire, and Diogo Dalot.

The first game between those two sides in the Premier League this season has been moved so it can be televised and Manchester United v Everton will now take place at lunchtime on Saturday, the second of October.
