Leicester City have been paying tribute to their former chairman Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, two years after he and four others tragically passed away in a helicopter crash.

Khun Vichai was on board as the helicopter crashed shortly after take-off on Filbert Way in 2018, an accident which also claimed the lives of staff members Kaveporn Punpare and Nusara Suknamai, and pilots Eric Swaffer and Izabela Lechowicz.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, proceedings on Tuesday morning were modestly staged at Khun Vichai’s Memorial Garden, just behind the East Stand at the King Power Stadium. Brendan Rodgers, Wes Morgan, Kasper Schmeichel and Jamie Vardy were on hand to pay their respects.

Under the dedicated guidance of Khun Vichai, Leicester City were transformed from a side which had recently competed in League 1 to Premier League champions in just six years.

Over his entire Chairmanship, Khun Vichai personally donated in excess of £4M to local causes, while often also dedicating his time to more modest causes, away from the public eye.
