Liverpool’s Premier League’s title defence is over…….but Leicester City’s own title push could just be getting started.

A three-minute second half Foxes blitz secured a huge 3-1 win over the defending champions as Jurgen Klopp’s side lost for the third time this month.

Both sides were restricted to half chances in an open start at the King Power with Mo Salah lashing just wide and Jamie Vardy cracking one off the bar.

The Reds did look to step it up a gear after the break as England star Trent Alexander-Arnold rattled the upright from a free kick.

And with Klopp’s side beginning turn the screw it that man Salah who deservedly edged them in front.

Some penalty box ballet from Roberto Firmino created the angle for him and he confidently cushioned past Kasper Schmeichel.

But with 20 minutes to, it was Brendan Rodgers’ side that produced absolutely bonkers comeback.

James Maddison was denied a penalty after being tripped by Thiago on the edge of the box but he kept his head to bend the resulting free kick beyond Alisson.

And it was the under-pressure Brazilian who gifted Leicester the lead just seconds as his horror show of a clearance landed presented Vardy with an easy tap in.

But with their tails up in the closing minutes, Leicester then made it safe as Salah’s loose pass allowed Wilf Ndidi to release Harvey Barnes to clinch a huge three points in the title race.

Full Time from a manic day at the King Power Stadium it’s Leicester City 3 Liverpool 1
