Leicester City have secured a timely return to winning ways this weekend as Brendan Rodgers’ side eased out a 2-1 win at Norwich.
Three points before the international break is a welcome boost for Leicester but Canaries have some real thinking to do as Daniel Farke’s side made it three straight defeats.
Rodgers’ side looked bright and breezy in the opening stages as the evergreen Jamie Vardy put them ahead on seven minutes.
Norwich debutant Brandon Williams had his pocket picked out wide by Ricardo Pereira and his cross into the box was instantly fired home by Vardy.
But despite barely having a kick before the break, Norwich were handed a lifeline in added time.
Caglar Soyuncu’s late challenge on Pierre Lees-Melou drew a spot kick for the hosts and top man Teemu Pukki stepped up to slot them level.
And with this tie looking certain to be settled by a single goal after the restart it was Leicester that found the clincher.
Vardy’s sweeping pass out wide was gathered in by Marc Albrighton and his deflected strike flew past Tim Krul.
Norwich did almost nick themselves a winner late on as Kenny McLean’s strike was ruled out by VAR and Adam Idah’s scuffed effort drifted just wide.
Full Time from Carrow Road it’s Norwich City 1 Leicester City 2
