Leeds have secured West Yorkshire bragging for this season as they edge out a 2-1 win over Sheffield United.
Another defeat means the Blades slide closer and closer relegation in the coming weeks with Marcelo Bielsa’s side look up at a possible European push.
The Whites were the better side early on with Jack Harrison sweeping home Raphinha’s excellent low cross.
But despite already looking dead buried, Sheffield United did rally before the break as Ben Osborn scuffed home from a goalmouth scramble.
However, that parity lasted just minutes after the restart as a desperate Phil Jagielka skewed Harrison’s cross into his own net.
And it was all one-way traffic late on as Leeds pushed hard for a third with Stuart Dallas clipping the woodwork and an overworked Aaron Ramsdale kept out Patrick Bamford.
Full Time from Elland Road it’s Leeds United 2 Sheffield United 1
