Jurgen Klopp was unable to attend the funeral of his mother, who passed away last month
It’s been revealed that Jurgen Klopp’s mother passed away recently, at the age of 81.
Elisabeth Klopp reportedly died on January 19th, two days before the Burnley game at Anfield, and because of coronavirus travel restrictions, Klopp was not allowed to attend the funeral, which took place on Tuesday.
Germany are currently enforcing a strict no-entry policy, which has also seen German clubs’ Champions League games being moved to alternate countries, with no allowances for events like funerals.
In a newspaper tribute from Klopp, he spoke of how his mother “meant everything to him” and promised to give his mother a send off that she deserved when restrictions allow.
