Social media post offers a different version of events

Club captain Harry Kane has returned to Tottenham a day after posting a statement on Twitter saying that he has never refused to train.

While making it clear he wouldn’t go into the specifics, he emphasised how important his relationship with the club, and the fans, is to him.

And to add further drama to the already tense situation, Tottenham open their Premier League campaign with a home game against the club who are trying to lure Harry away. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that he would love to be able to sign the striker, but that it’s not possible unless he is for sale.

One player who definitely will be here this season is Argentina defender Cristian Romero, who was voted the best in Serie A last season. The 23-year-old, who won the Copa America with Argentina earlier in the summer, joins for a fee of 42.5 million. Though Spurs have not disclosed the length of his contract.
