Watford man Daryl Janmaat has hinted he is interested in a return to Holland at the end of next season.

The Dutchman is under contract at Vicarage Road until 2022, having been rewarded with fresh terms last summer.

However, it seems that the former Newcastle defender is unlikely to see out the full length of his Hornets deal, revealing that his eyeing a return to the Netherlands.

Speaking to Dutch news outlet BN Destem, the 30-year-old said:

“I want another season of real celebration in the Premier League; then I want to go back to the Netherlands.

“It’s England and then Holland, if I’m honest. I don’t need another country anymore.

“The children would like to go back, and I think it would have been nice. Then I had a wonderful adventure abroad.”
