Goalkeeper isolating as squad heads for final training camp
Ahead of their final pre-season game against Everton, the Red Devils have arrived in Dundee for a three day training camp at St. Andrews.
Following an extended break due to Euro 2020, Luke Shaw, Jadon Sancho, and Harry Maguire will be training for the first time together since reaching the final.
One notable absentee is that international teammate goalkeeper Dean Henderson. The club have issued a statement that the player “is suffering prolonged fatigue after contracting a Covid-19 infection,” but that they do expect him to make a full return to training soon.
With the new season just days away, this means David De Gea is likely to start in goal for at least the first few competitive games.
United begin their Premier League season on August 14th with a lunchtime kick-off at Old Trafford as they face Leeds United, a game in which Tom Heaton could return to the squad for the first time since re-joining from Aston Villa.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first away game comes a week later as they face Southampton, before a test at Molineux against Wolves.
