Fulham have given their Premier League survival hopes another crucial boost this weekend as they saw off relegation rivals Sheffield United.
In a game that was billed as make or break for either side’s chances of staying in the top-flight, Ademola Lookman’s strike may be the final nail the Blades coffin.
The nerves were clear for both teams early on with Ivan Cavaleiro’s wild effort the only real chance before the break.
But despite this tie having all the hallmarks of a 0-0 stalemate, a moment of Lookman magic tipped it for Fulham on the hour.
The former Everton man wriggled away from Ethan Ampadu inside the box and lashed a snapshot past Aaron Ramsdale.
Chris Wilder’s side did look to rally from that, but Enda Stevens wasted a perfect chance on the counter.
And the Blades misery was completed in the final minutes as Alphonse Areola chopped down Jayden Bogle in the box, but referee Martin Atkinson waved away their desperate penalty shouts.
