Everton’s Europa League chances this season may have hit a dead end this weekend as Carlo Ancelotti’s side lost 1-0 to rock bottom Sheffield United.
The Toffees now face a real battle to secure a Top Six spot in the final week as teenage star Daniel Jebbison netted his first ever Premier League goal.
It was the Blades who started better in the rain on Merseyside as Jack Robinson’s cross was buried by Jebbison on his first club start.
And that strike open it up at both ends as the rain continued to lash down before the break with Allan denied by Aaron Ramsdale and Jordan Pickford on hand to keep out John Fleck.
But it was Ancelotti’s side who gained the upper hand before the whistle as Ramsdale produced an incredible double save to keep out Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
However, despite Everton looking to go up through the gears in the second 45, Ramsdale stayed as one-man barrier.
And in truth United could have nicked a second late as Pickford clawed out John Egan’s header.
Full Time from Goodison Park it’s Everton 0 Sheffield United 1
