Manchester United centre back Eric Bailly has relieved fears of a potential injury scare whilst on international duty with Ivory Coast.

The defender appeared to be in some discomfort whilst playing in Ivory Coast’s 1-1 draw with Belgium on Thursday, clutching his right hamstring in the second half.

Bailly was eventually substituted in the 70th minute, leaving some United fans to believe that the 26-year-old had picked up yet another injury.

However, Bailly has confirmed on his Instagram page that wasn’t the case, and that simply muscle tiredness was the reason he came off.

The Ivorian has had plenty of injury issues during his time at Old Trafford so far, and with United opting against signing a new centre back in the summer window, he will be looking to cement a place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

The Red Devils’ latest Premier League showing against Tottenham though ended in disaster with a 1-6 home defeat – a game in which Bailly started – leaving supporters asking serious questions about United’s – and Bailly’s – defensive capabilities.
