Defending champions Manchester City have lost early ground in the Premier League title race this weekend as they suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side eventually ended the game with ten men, following Aymeric Laporte’s first half dismissal, as Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace caught them cold at the Etihad.
The tone was set for City right from the off in this one as Laporte’s horror show of an error was pounced on by Connor Gallagher and he slipped in Wilf Zaha to fire past Ederson.
But Pep’s afternoon was to go from bad to worse in added time as Spanish star Laporte was sent off for dragging back Zaha.
However, despite being a man down after the break, City did look to spark into life in the final 30, as Gabriel Jesus had an equaliser chalked off by VAR.
And with the home side pushing hard in the final moments, a ruthless Palace hit them on the counter with two minutes to go, as Conor Gallagher popped up smash one past Ederson.
Full Time from the Etihad Stadium it’s Manchester City 0-2 Crystal Palace
