Could Oblak be the answer to the keeper situation?

It’s the silly season with lots of rumours flying about, which at the moment are just rumours – but heres some that actually might happen.

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz is a key target, and a deal may be easier to complete now the German club are also out of Europe.

Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell is also a player being considered by the Blues.

But one position where we can definitely expect movement is between the sticks, with Kepa out of favour and Willy now 38, this is a priority. And so being linked to Stamford Bridge switch is goalkeeper Jan Oblak, currently with Athletico Madrid in the Champions league.

He recently batted away the possibility of a move in a press conference, and there is also the not insignificant matter of Oblak’s big €120m buyout clause.

But surely Chelsea have already proven that the more you spend on a keeper, the better they are…
