Premier League leaders Chelsea have increased their lead at the top this weekend as the defending European champions cruised to a 3-0 win over Newcastle.
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side now find themselves with a three-point lead at the top as rivals Liverpool and Manchester City both slipped up this afternoon.
The Blues found themselves bossing this one right from the off on Tyneside with winger Hakim Ziyech wasting two excellent chances to put them in front.
And Tuchel’s visitors simply kept it up again after the break as Ziyech’s deflected strike bounced back off the post before England star Reece James finally lashed them in front.
That breakthrough finally ended any possible Magpies resistance late on as James popped up to bullet home a second just after.
And with Chelsea in no mood for letting up in the final moments, as Karl Darlow’s rash challenge saw him collide with Kai Havertz inside the box, and Jorginho slotted home a trademark spot kick.
