Defending champions Chelsea have taken a step closer to the Champions League knockout stages as they edged out a 1-0 win over Malmo.

Thomas Tuchel’s side absolutely dominated in Sweden, but the first 45 minutes were littered with missed chances for the visitors, as Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz both missed vital chances.

However, despite their near misses, Chelsea did finally show a cutting edge in the second 45 as Ziyech arrived on cue to calmly tuck Callum Hudson-Odoi’s pass.

And the visitors did almost wrap it up at 2-0 in the final moments, with German star Havertz again kept out, but in the end, Tuchel’s side move to within one point of the last 16.
