Chelsea have nudged themselves back up to second in the Premier League table as Thomas Tuchel’s side squeezed out a 3-0 derby win at Tottenham.
Chelsea did take their time to click into gear in North London but thanks to a superb performance and three second half goals the visitors secured capital city bragging rights once again over Tottenham.
Neither side managed to carve out anything clear cut in the opening 45 despite an impressive high paced opening.
Chelsea’s best chance fell to Danish star Andreas Christensen, but his long ranger flew just wide, before Kepa did brilliantly to smother out Son Heung-min.
However, despite this being a slow burner before the break, it burst into life immediately after the restart, as Tuchel and Chelsea finally took control.
Marcos Alonso’s corner was a peach into the box and Thiago Silva got up highest to bullet past Hugo Lloris.
That strike changed the complexion of the tie as Spurs already looked well beaten before the hour mark.
And with Nuno Santo’s side feeling sorry for themselves, substitute N’Golo Kante rubbed it in on 57 minutes, as he deflected home a second off Eric Dier.
But with the irrepressible Tuchel refusing to let his side ease off in the final stages, Lloris was on hand to brilliantly keep out Silva, before Antonio Rudiger added a deserved third in added time.
Full Time from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium it’s Tottenham 0-3 Chelsea
