Liverpool have given their Champions League hopes a major boost this weekend thanks to an emphatic 3-0 win away at Arsenal.
The result leaves Jurgen Klopp’s side fifth overnight thanks to a Diogo Jota masterclass in North London as Arsenal’s own European hopes now look to be absolutely shattered.
It was the Reds who carried all the threat early on with Roberto Firmino and James Milner both wasting chances to edge them in front.
And with Arsenal offering little resistance after the restart, Liverpool finally broke through on the hour.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s superb cross dropped between two Gunners defenders and Jota got up highest to power past Bernd Leno.
And that goal opened the floodgates late on for Liverpool as Arsenal simply crumbled before Mikel Arteta’s eyes.
Mo Salah got the better of Gabriel in behind to make it 2-0 on the night before Jota smashed home Sadio Mane’s flick to clinch it.
Full Time at the Emirates Stadium it’s Arsenal 0 Liverpool 3
