Leicester’s push for the Champions League has been halted again this weekend after they slipped to a 1-1 draw at 10-man Southampton.

The Foxes keep their place inside the Top Four but positive results for Chelsea and West Ham will increase the pressure on Brendan Rodgers’ side.

And it all started so well for the visitors as referee Rob Jones sent off Jannik Vestergaard for a late clip on Jamie Vardy.

The Saints were incensed by the call at it spurred them on to dominate before the break as Nathan Tella tested Kasper Schmeichel and Nathan Redmond lashed one wide.

And the hosts continued to turn up the pressure after the break as James Ward-Prowse lashed home from the spot following Kelechi Iheanacho’s handball.

But all credit to the Foxes, they did react immediately with Jonny Evans powering home Iheanacho’s cross.

And Rodgers’ Europe chasers almost pinched it late on but Alex McCarthy produced out vital stop to keep out Vardy.

Full Time from the St. Mary’s Stadium it’s Southampton 1 Leicester City 1
