Burnley have given another boost to their Premier League survival hopes thanks to a dominant 3-0 win away at Crystal Palace.

The Clarets had failed to win in February prior to kick off but early goals from Johan Gudmundsson and Jay Rodriguez set them on the road to a crucial three points in the capital.

Sean Dyche’s side were right at it from the start in South London as Roy Hodgson’s side were caught cold.

Erik Pieters’ wicked back post cross was missed by two Palace defenders and Gudmundsson stayed alive to smash home the loose ball.

And with Palace still reeling, Burnley capitalised to make it 2-0 on the 10-minute mark as Rodriguez nodded home Dwight McNeil’s corner.

Palace did slowly begin to wake up before the break but Christian Benteke wasted two great chances to get them back into it.

And with the home side unable to carve a way through, it was Burnley who wrapped it up just after the restart as full back Matt Lowton smashed a spectacular volley past Vicente Guaita.

A ruthless Burnley did look hungry for a fourth goal late on, but Guaita kept his wits about him to keep out Ashley Barnes before Andros Townsend hammered miles over for Palace.
