Brighton battled back to secure a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace in what has become one of the most curious Premier League derbies.

The M23 showdown has seen some bad blood in recent seasons with a fourth 1-1 draw from the last three campaigns between Brighton and Crystal Palace.

However, despite the evenness of the result, it was Brighton who dominated, with Graham Potter’s side unlucky not to edge the win.

Palace keeper Jack Butland was the hero either side of the break with a penalty stop from Pascal Gross and a vital save from Neal Maupay.

But, with Palace still posing a threat, Patrick Vieira’s side snatched the advantage as Conor Gallagher powered home Jeff Schlupp’s cut back.

However, despite looking set for a frustrating Friday night, Brighton got that lucky break late on.

As Maupay’s driven cross was steered home by the unfortunate Joachim Anderson.

Full Time from the AMEX Stadium it’s Brighton 1 Crystal Palace 1
