Premier League debuts proved to be the stuff of dreams on Friday night as for the red and white of Brentford secured a night to remember

Thomas Frank’s side announced their arrival on the big stage with a dominant showing on the night as the Bees swept to a 2-0 win over a lacklustre Arsenal.

Roared on by a buoyant home crowd in West London the hosts dominated right from the first kick.

Bryan Mbuemo almost drew first blood as he cracked one off the post.

But the Bees kept coming in waves before Sergi Canos deservedly edged them in front.

Arsenal’s failure to clear their lines was pounced on by the Spaniard as he chopped inside Calum Chambers and smashed home the opener.

Mikel Arteta’s side did look to shake themselves into after the break, as Emile Smith-Rowe tested David Raja, but it was all too one paced from the visitors.

And with no fight from Gunners, they conceded a goal straight from their old Stoke City nightmares.

Mads Sorensen’s long throw simply bounced through the Arsenal six-yard box and Christian Norgaard stooped to nod home an iconic winner.

With only two weeks until the transfer deadline day, there has been speculation of Arsenal diving back in for Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard.
