Brentford’s unbeaten start to life in the Premier League has continued this weekend as Thomas Frank’s side picked up a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.

Ivan Toney stepped up to grab his first ever Premier League goal as Emiliano Buendia’s first half strike opened up his Villa account.

The Bees have made a habit of string starts this month and Toney checked his run in the box to bullet home Sergi Canos’ pass.

But Villa weren’t down for long in front of their buoyant home fans as Danny Ings deflected bounced kindly for Buendia to spin and bury one past David Raja.

And with their tails up before the break, Villa could and should have edged in front, but Raya reacted brilliantly to deny Ings.

However, despite their edge before the break, Villa were unable to build on that in the second 45 as Anwar El Ghazi wild effort failed to test Raja.

Full Time from Villa Park it’s Aston Villa 1 Brentford 1
