Brentford have moved the edge of Premier League survival this weekend thanks to an impressive 3-0 win at home to Southampton.

Brentford have little left to play for this month but the Bees could yet force a top half finish in the coming weeks, over Southampton.

Thomas Frank’s charges headed into this unbeaten in their last three home games and they dominated from the off in West London.

Pontus Jansson popped up on cue to smash home Ivan Toney’s cut back before Yoane Wissa fired home a loose ball.

And the Bees could, and probably should have extended their advantage just after, as Wissa and Toney both wasted chances before the break.

Southampton posed a sporadic threat after the restart before Kristoffer Ayer wriggled through late on to make it three goals and three points for Brentford.

Full Time from the Brentford Community Stadium it’s Brentford 3 Southampton 0
