Southampton are preparing to offer fresh terms to two first team stars.

Saints have been busy in the boardroom of late, drafting up new deals for manager Ralph Hasenhuttl and forward Shane Long last week.

Now, ex-Chelsea duo Ryan Bertrand and Oriol Romeu are in line for new deals at the club, according to The Telegraph.

Bertrand, a Champions League winner during his time at the Blues, is one of Southampton’s longest serving players, having signed for the club in 2014.

Oriol Romeu has also become part of the furniture at St Mary’s having arrived on the south coast in 2015.

With football clubs expected to be hit in the pocket due to the impact of coronavirus, fresh deals for players approaching the end of their contracts will likely be commonplace in the upcoming transfer window.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is another on Saints’ list of ‘players to keep’.
