Aston Villa’s home game with Burnley has become the sixth Premier League fixture to be postponed this weekend.

With the evolving Covid-19 picture continuing to impact top flight football, as Aston VIlla and Burnley was postponed.

A sharp rise in positive Covid-19 tests forced the Premier League to cancel five games within the last 48 hours and Sean Dyche’s trip to Villa Park is the latest casualty.

Despite this game appearing certain set to go ahead up to two hours before kick off, it was hit by a raft of positive results from Villa overnight.

This is the first game of Steven Gerrard’s tenure to be cancelled because of the virus, have missed during this block of postponements with the Clarets now missing back-to-back fixtures.
