Aston Villa have picked up their second win of the Premier League season as Dean Smith’s side showed the class to seal a 3-0 win over Everton.

The defeat ends Rafa Benitez’s unbeaten start as Everton boss as a second half blitz secured a smash and grab win for Aston Villa.

Villa looked sharp early on as Asmir Begovic’s reflexes kept out Tyrone Mings before England star Danny Ings scuffed one just wide of the post.

Everton did look to pose a threat on the counter but Salomon Rondon was unable to convert from a pair of half chances.

But with neither side really taking the bull by the horns after the break it was moment of magic from Matty Cash which edged Villa in front.

Ezri Konsa’s ball in behind wasn’t picked by the Everton back line and Cash raced on to thunder home his first ever Premier League goal.

That breakthrough tipped it for Villa late on as Everton suffered an uncharacteristic wobble.

Toffees stand in skipper Lucas Digne unluckily diverted home substitute Leon Bailey’s fantastic corner before the Jamaican winger showed his talents as finisher in the final moments to race on and bury Ings’ brilliant pass.

Full Time from Villa Park it’s Aston Villa 3 Everton 0
