The Gunners have added some experience to their goalkeeping ranks
Arsenal have signed goalkeeper Mat Ryan from Brighton on loan for the rest of the season.
In a move that has seemingly came out of nowhere, the Gunners have added Aussie Ryan to their ranks to cover for Bernd Leno, who remains number one at the Emirates.
Ryan had been replaced recently at Brighton by Robert Sanchez, with Graham Potter handing a new deal to Jason Steele recently, a clear sign that they were happy to let Ryan leave.
It’s understandable that Mikel Arteta was keen on signing a new stopper, with Runar Runarsson making a series of mistakes in the Carabao Cup against Manchester City during his last appearance.
28-year-old Ryan has played over 100 times for Brighton in the Premier League, so will add experience to the ranks, and will wear the number 33 shirt at the club he claims to have supported as a child.
