Arsenal have boosted their chances of sneaking into the Europa League spots thanks to a 3-0 win at rock bottom Sheffield United.

Mikel Arteta’s side now end the weekend seven points outside the Top Six as the Gunners aim to end the campaign on a high.

Both sides were frustrated by chances early on as Bukayo Saka and David McGoldrick flashes good efforts off target.

But the tie was to bounce in Arsenal’s favour just before the break as Saka’s pass fell kindly for Alexandre Lacazette inside the box and the Frenchman fired past Aaron Ramsdale.

That breakthrough looked to have knocked the life out of United after the restart as a refreshed Arsenal pushed on for more.

Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli tapped home his first Premier League goal of the season after Ramsdale could only parry Nicolas Pepe’s effort.

Before Lacazette buried his 50th Premier League for Arsenal from Thomas Partey raking pass.
