Mikel Arteta has celebrated his 100th game in charge of Arsenal with a 1-0 win over ten-man Watford.
Arsenal now head into the international break on the back of a ten-game unbeaten run as they secured a straightforward three points in North London against Watford.
With Watford looking to sit in a protect in the first 45 it was all Arsenal one-way traffic before the break.
However, despite the Hornets passivity, Arsenal wasted their one big chance as Ben Foster kept out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the spot.
But credit to Areta and his side as they kept the faith and refused to panic after the break with Emile Smith-Rowe popping up with the key difference.
Ben White’s driving run scattered the Watford back line and Smith-Rowe burst onto the loose ball to fire past Foster.
And that strike did open it up late on, with Aubameyang seeing a goal flagged up for offside, before Juraj Kucka was dismissed for a second booking.
Full Time from the Emirates Stadium it’s Arsenal 1-0 Watford
