Antonio Conte has picked up his first Premier League win as Tottenham boss this weekend win as Spurs edged out a 2-1 victory over Leeds.

Conte’s high profile return to the Premier League has been a slow burner in recent weeks but a first domestic win for his Tottenham side against Leeds will be a vital relief for the Italian.

And with Spurs still finding their feet under the new regime, it was Leeds who carved out the better early chances with Hugo Lloris superbly keeping out Kalvin Phillips.

However, despite appearing set for a frustrating end to the half, Marcelo Bielsa’s visitors squeezed into a narrow lead in added time.

Jack Harrison’s break into the box wasn’t tracked by the Spurs back line and Daniel James arrive on cue to hammer them in front.

But Conte has instilled some much-needed steel back into Spurs in the recent weeks with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min leading their response after the break.

Danish star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg finally hauled them level as he bulleted one past Illan Meslier but the hosts smelt blood in the final 20.

Eric Dier’s blocked effort caused mayhem in the Leeds box and Sergio Reguilon reacted sharpest to stab home the winner.

Full Time from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium it’s Tottenham 2-1 Leeds United
