If ever a Premier League game had 0-0 written all over it was sure to Burnley against West Brom on wet February afternoon.
Sam Allardyce’s hopes of digging the Baggies out of the drop zone have received a minor boost on a day very few positives for either side.
The visitors did just about edge a poor opening with Nick Pope plunging to make a key stop from Matheus Pereira.
But despite shading the better chances, the Baggies plan was flipped on its head just before the half hour, as Semi Ajayi was sent off for a comedy handball.
However, with Allardyce roaring them on the touchline, it was West Brom who dominated second half in Lancashire.
Mbaye Diang lost his head at the key moment as he lashed a close-range effort off the bar before James Tarkowski got back on the line deny Pereira.
But try as they might in the closing stages, there was no way through for the toothless Baggies.
